Mudroom and Entryway Wallpaper Ideas
A well-designed mudroom creates a strong first impression while helping organize everyday life. Wallpaper can add texture, color, and character to these functional spaces. Many homeowners choose removable wallpaper because it offers flexibility while delivering a custom designer appearance.

A Hard-Working Wall
The mudroom is the wall that takes the coats, the bags, the wet boots and the dog, and it needs a wallpaper that can be wiped. That is why nearly everything in this collection is a texture or a small geometric: patterns that hide scuffs, read as material rather than decoration, and look right above a bench, a row of hooks or a run of board-and-batten. It is also the room where vinyl peel and stick earns its keep, with a wipeable satin surface and the strongest grip of the materials we print on.
What Is in This Collection
Woven and fabric looks first: canvas, rattan weave, wicker weave, burlap hash, linen look stripes, classic woven chevron, and the damask weave textured look. Checks and plaids: the cozy plaid, gingham check, and the checkered fabric look in small, medium and large. Stripes in every weight, from thin vertical and thin horizontal to watercolor stripes and painted vertical and horizontal lines. Wood: plain wood, brown wood, vintage wood, chevron wood, chevron striped wood and wood grain waves. Lattice and grid: trellis, avant trellis, white trellis, modern trellis, crosshatch, small crosshatch grid, modern wire mesh, octagon links, diamond points, wavelength, chevron and the OP art line cubes. Patterned marble and birch trees for a softer entry, and the geometric watercolor lines and organic painted lines for something looser.
Planning a Mudroom Wall
The classic mudroom pairs a painted wainscot or board-and-batten below with wallpaper above, so the paper sits out of reach of boots and bags and the hooks go into the painted section. If the whole wall is papered, put the hooks up through the paper after it is on. The screw holes are hidden by the hook plate and the paper is not disturbed. Small repeats and textures work best because the wall is broken up by a door, a bench and coats. A large mural would never be seen whole. The same patterns run into a hallway, a laundry room or the back of a pantry door.
Ordering and Installing
Rolls are 24 inches wide in 60, 96, 108 and 122 inch lengths. Measure the papered section only, not the wainscot, and the calculator on each product page gives the roll count. Wait thirty days after painting. Wipe the wall down first, since an entry wall carries more dust than most. Vinyl peel and stick can be lifted and re-set during installation. Press the seams and edges firmly. Everything is made to order in our Ramsey, New Jersey studio and usually shipped in one to three business days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which material for a mudroom?
Vinyl peel and stick. It wipes clean with a damp cloth, tolerates a wet coat brushing past, and holds on a slightly textured wall. Fabric if the house is rented.
Will hooks and shelves damage the wallpaper?
No. Mount them through the paper. The fixing plate covers the hole.
Can I use this on the laundry room or pantry too?
Yes. The laundry room page pulls out the patterns we send there most, and vinyl peel and stick works on the inside of a pantry door and on cabinet fronts.
Does a small pattern make a narrow hallway feel narrower?
A vertical stripe or a small trellis lengthens a hallway. A large-scale pattern shortens it. Keep to the lighter colourways in a hall without a window.
