Simple Shapes was started in 2009 by an architect and a graphic designer, one who understands what an interior upgrade does for a space, the other with the skill to design it. We began with wall decals and stickers. Our customers took us to peel and stick wallpaper, and designers took us to commercial grade vinyl and 20oz unpasted wallcovering. Seventeen years later we are still a husband and wife company, still in New Jersey, and still making every piece to order.
Our story
Two trades, one idea.
An architect spends a career learning what a room needs and what a change to it is worth. A graphic designer spends a career making that change look right. Put the two in one household and the question is obvious: why should upgrading an interior mean paint, paste, a contractor and a week of mess?
In 2009 we answered it with wall decals and stickers. Cut from vinyl, designed in house, up in an afternoon with nothing more than a squeegee, and off again cleanly when you want something new. It was the easiest upgrade a wall could get, and people noticed.
Then customers asked for more than an accent. They wanted to change a whole room themselves. So we developed our own peel and stick wallpaper, in vinyl or fabric, printed and cut to the wall you actually have. No paste, no professional, no reason to wait.
Then interior designers and commercial clients asked for more again, so we built a commercial grade line: vinyl peel and stick for walls that have to work hard, and Type II 20oz unpasted wallcovering, the traditional heavyweight material for hotels, offices and restaurants. Both are Class A fire rated, and every wallpaper design we make is available in all of them.
We are Sunho and Kelly, and seventeen years on it is still our company.

Wall decals and stickers
The easiest upgrade there is. A tree in a nursery, a growth chart in a hallway, a pattern of stars across a ceiling. Little mess, no fuss, done in an afternoon, and removable when tastes change.

We make it ourselves
Every order is printed and finished in our Ramsey, New Jersey studio after you place it, with UL GREENGUARD Gold certified inks. That is why we can print one panel to an odd size, match a colour to a swatch, or turn a client's artwork into a mural. None of that is possible when you resell someone else's catalogue.
Designed in house
Every pattern we sell was drawn here. The architect checks that it works at wall scale and in a real room. The graphic designer makes sure it looks the way it should. Six hundred designs later, that is still how each one starts.
It has to come off cleanly
Our decals, stickers and peel and stick wallpaper are judged on removal as much as installation. An upgrade you cannot undo is not an upgrade, it is a commitment. We make the kind you can change your mind about.

We work with people who specify.
A good share of what we make goes to interior designers, contractors, property managers and commercial fit-outs. They come back because the material is consistent, the sizing is made to order, and there is an architect on the other end of the phone when a detail needs solving.
