Wallpaper That Survives a Bathroom

The question every bathroom wallpaper has to answer is moisture, and the answer is the material. Vinyl peel and stick is the one to use here: a wipeable, slightly satin surface that shrugs off steam and splashes, with the strongest grip of the three materials we print on. Keep it out of the shower enclosure itself and run the fan, and it will last as long as the paint under it. Fabric peel and stick is fine in a powder room that has no shower. Every pattern in this collection is available in vinyl, and the waterproof wallpaper page narrows it to the designs we recommend most for wet rooms.

What Is in This Collection

Leaves and botanicals lead, because a bathroom takes a garden well: fern, climbing vines, watercolor botanical leaves, forest foliage, breezy and oceanside palm leaves, tropical leaves, line leaves, damask leaves, elegant modern leaves. Florals in a range of moods, from the pastel petals and flower land to the midnight floral, the black and white floral, the monochromatic floral, and the floral nights and moth flights for a room meant to be dark. Then the tile-like patterns that suit the room's tiled half: watercolor herringbone, flower Moroccan tile, interwoven parquet, small crosshatch grid, gingham check. Seashell stripes and summer palm stripes for a coastal bath. And two outliers, the minimalist line-art faces and the howdy horses, for a powder room with a sense of humour.

Powder Room or Full Bath

A powder room is the easiest room in the house to be bold in. The wall area is small, no one lingers, and a dark or busy pattern that would overwhelm a bedroom reads as a jewel box here. It is also the room guests see. Two rolls usually do it. A full bathroom wants a lighter hand: paper the wall above a tile wainscot or behind the vanity mirror and leave the rest painted, so the pattern frames the room instead of filling it. In both, plan the cuts around the mirror, the outlets and the towel bar before the first strip goes up.

Ordering and Installing

Rolls are 24 inches wide in 60, 96, 108 and 122 inch lengths. The calculator on each product page turns wall measurements into a roll count, and adds a spare for the pattern match. Wait thirty days after painting, wipe the wall down, and let the room dry out fully before installing. Peel and stick can be lifted and re-set during installation. Press the edges firmly once it sits. Made to order in our Ramsey, New Jersey studio and usually shipped in one to three business days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will peel and stick wallpaper peel off in a steamy bathroom?

Vinyl peel and stick, on a clean cured wall with the fan running, holds. The edges lift first if anything does. A wallpaper primer under the seams is cheap insurance in a room without a window.

Can I put wallpaper inside the shower?

No. Outside the enclosure only.

Can I wipe it down?

Yes. Vinyl peel and stick wipes with a damp cloth and mild soap. Fabric peel and stick should be dabbed, not scrubbed.

Does it work over existing tile?

On smooth, flat tile with narrow grout lines, vinyl peel and stick will adhere, but the grout lines will show through as texture. We recommend it for painted walls.
