How to Choose a Peel and Stick Wallpaper Brand: 8 Things to Check Before You Order
There are hundreds of places to buy peel and stick wallpaper, and from a thumbnail they all look the same. The differences show up after you order: how long it takes to arrive, whether the rolls fit your wall, whether the colour matches the screen, and whether it goes up without a fight. Here are the eight things worth checking before you buy from anyone, and how we answer each of them at Simple Shapes.
The short answer
Look for a brand that offers more than one material, prints rolls in lengths that match your ceiling height, ships in days rather than weeks, sells inexpensive samples, tells you the pattern repeat, and will check your measurements with you. If the holidays are your deadline, shipping speed and roll sizing matter most, because those are the two that cost you a weekend when they go wrong.
1. More than one material
Peel and stick is not one product. A matte fabric behaves differently from a satin vinyl, and the right one depends on the room. A brand that sells only one is asking your wall to fit their product. We print every pattern three ways: fabric peel and stick, which is matte, the easiest to install and the renter-friendly choice; vinyl peel and stick, which has a stronger grip, wipes clean and handles lightly textured walls; and traditional unpasted for permanent or commercial jobs. Our guide to vinyl or fabric by room helps you choose.
2. Roll sizes that fit your wall
Many retail rolls come in one fixed length, so an 8 foot wall leaves you piecing offcuts or buying far more than you need. Look for rolls cut to wall height. Ours are 24 inches wide in 60, 96, 108 and 122 inch lengths, so one roll is one floor-to-ceiling strip, and custom sizes are available on request. The wider roll also means fewer seams: a 12 foot wall is six strips.
3. How fast it arrives
Ask three questions: how long does production take, where does it ship from, and is there a faster option. We print every order in our Ramsey, New Jersey studio in 2 to 3 business days. Standard shipping then takes about 3 days to the East Coast and 5 to 6 days to the West Coast, and overnight and express options are available at checkout. Because everything is made to order, nothing is ever out of stock, which matters in November when popular patterns sell out elsewhere. Order-by dates for every region are in our Thanksgiving timeline.
4. Samples you can afford to order
Colour on a screen is a guess. A good brand makes it cheap to check. Our small samples are $5 and the 24 x 24 inch samples are $27, in the exact material you plan to order. Tape one up, look at it in the evening light you will actually use, and leave it for two days. Why samples matter explains what to look for.
5. A stated pattern repeat
The repeat decides how much you waste matching strips. Every one of our product pages lists it, and most of our patterns are a single-roll repeat, which means every roll is identical and the pattern lines up when you hang them side by side. No extra rolls bought just to match.
6. Inks and ratings
Wallpaper covers a lot of surface in a room you breathe in. Ours is printed with UL GREENGUARD Gold certified inks, and all three materials are Class A fire rated and commercial grade. If a brand does not say, ask.
7. Help with the math
Ordering the wrong quantity is the most common and most expensive mistake. Look for a roll calculator and a person who will check your numbers. Every product page of ours has a calculator, and you can send us your wall dimensions and we will confirm the count before you order. The method is in how much wallpaper do I need.
8. Real rooms, not just renders
Renders show the pattern. Customer photos show the product. Look for a brand that publishes both. The dining nook in our dining room accent wall guide is a customer's own photo, corners, bay window and all.

Frequently asked questions
Which peel and stick wallpaper ships the fastest?
Look for made-to-order brands that print domestically and offer overnight shipping. Ours is printed in 2 to 3 business days in New Jersey, with standard, express and overnight shipping at checkout.
Is there peel and stick wallpaper made in the USA?
Yes. Every Simple Shapes roll is printed to order in Ramsey, New Jersey.
Is more expensive peel and stick wallpaper worth it?
You are paying for the material, the print quality and the fit. A roll cut to your wall height in a commercial-grade material goes up faster, shows fewer seams and comes down cleaner than a thin fixed-length roll.
Can I order a sample before buying rolls?
Yes, and you should. Samples are $5 and ship the same way rolls do.
