Nursery Decals That Come Off When the Room Changes

A nursery is the one room that will be redecorated on a schedule. The crib goes, the toddler bed arrives, the toddler bed goes, and the wall you decorated at eight months pregnant has to change with it. That is the whole case for a decal over paint or wallpaper in this room: thin cut vinyl, applied in an afternoon, that peels off cleanly when the child is three and wants dinosaurs instead of owls. Planning a Nursery Wall

Decide on the crib wall first: it is the wall in every photo. A tree over the crib is the classic choice, and most of ours are drawn so the canopy spreads above where the crib sits. Measure the wall and the crib, and choose a tree that clears the crib rail by a hand's width; the trunk on the larger trees can be trimmed. Keep a second wall for the growth chart, ideally beside the door where you will actually measure the child, and put animals or clouds on the wall the crib faces, at a height the child can see from lying down. One big decal plus one small set reads as a room; four sets on four walls reads as a sticker book.

Applying, Removing and Safety

Decals arrive in sections with an application tool. Tape the sections up first and step back; placement is final on a transfer decal, so the dry-fit is the step that matters. Walls should be smooth or lightly textured and painted at least thirty days before. To remove, lift a corner and peel slowly; the vinyl comes off painted walls without residue. Everything is designed and made to order in our Ramsey, New Jersey studio and usually ships in one to three business days. Any design can be printed in a custom colour to match bedding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put a decal directly over the crib?

Yes, that is what the tree designs are for. Apply it to a clean, cured wall and press the edges firmly; a properly applied decal does not lift.

Will it come off when we redecorate?

Yes. Lift a corner and peel. It removes cleanly from painted walls, which is why these work in rentals.

Can my child move the pieces around?

How do I choose colours?
